Supporting those without secure shelter or family support

ACT 4 Shelter addresses the needs of elderly individuals, specially abled persons, and those left without safe living conditions. Through dedicated shelter initiatives and distribution of essential items, Ammucare provides space, daily utilities, food, clothing, and medical support to those who would otherwise be left to manage alone. Two focused initiatives were launched to strengthen this effort: Mohanji Bhavan and Mohanji Home for Seniors.

Mohanji Bhavan

Mohanji Bhavan was launched to support elderly and visually challenged individuals who had limited support systems.

The initiative currently supports three elderly individuals, including two visually challenged residents and one caretaker in Odisha.

Residents are provided:

Nutritious meals
Regular health check-ups
Daily necessities
Safe living space

The initiative has also inspired local support, including the donation of land for future expansion.

Mohanji Home for Seniors

Mohanji Home for Seniors was inaugurated to provide structured care for neglected and abandoned elderly individuals.

In addition to residential support, ACT 4 Shelter includes:

Blanket distribution during winter
Vastra daan initiatives
Clothing support for vulnerable individuals

These efforts extend across multiple states where unsheltered individuals and low-income families require seasonal protection and essential supplies.

The Mohanji Home for Seniors is designed to support residents in all aspects of daily life, ensuring safety, comfort, and attentiveness.

Care includes:

Nutrition: Freshly prepared, balanced meals served daily.
Healthcare: Regular health check-ups and ongoing support for required medications.
Mental and Emotional Well-Being: Encouraged through meditation, counselling, and gentle social interaction.
Supportive Infrastructure: Safe living spaces, including a second-floor expansion that offers additional room and views of the sacred Arunachala hill.
Daily Assistance: Dedicated support for residents who need help with mobility, hygiene, or daily routines.
